We Get It!

According to recent data, only 40% of Americans have a Will or Trust. If you have been putting this off, you are not alone. So, what stops people from planning?

Maybe you believe you are too young. Or you think you don’t have ‘enough’ to even need a plan. For some, it’s a fear of ‘how much is this going to cost me?’ that is stopping them. Or the worry that it will be too much work. Or-maybe you just don’t want to think about it…Thinking about a future you may not be a part of is hard for everyone.

But the truth is, putting off planning doesn’t alleviate those fears of “what would happen if….” AND it doesn’t protect the ones you love most in this world. No matter your reason – we will meet you where you are at.

But Did You Know…

It is important to update your estate plan with certain life changes.  If you get married, divorced, have a baby or adopt a child, buy or sell a business, move, or have received a diagnosis that is going to impact life in the coming months- it’s important to create or update your plan! If you are unsure if it’s time to update, we can help with that too.

Failing to create an estate plan leaves your assets AND your wishes at the mercy of the probate court. It may also result in fighting among family.  Not having an estate plan can have far-reaching consequences for both you and your loved ones.

Estate Planning Can Tell Your Story.

Proper estate planning is about WAY more than “who will get my stuff when I die?”

Taking the time to create a personalized estate plan is not only wise, but also provides peace of mind that your affairs will be handled according to your wishes. Estate planning is multifaceted.  A comprehensive plan should not only cover what happens to your stuff when you die, but also protect you and the ones you love most during your life.  Proper estate planning can also be an impactful way to pass along your legacy. Creating your estate plan with Strategic Planning Law will allow you to preserve what you have built, protect those you love, and pass along what matters most to you.
